App of Note

I was blessed with the gift of an iPad a few months back and have found it to be a wonderful tool in many areas. I have also had fun with it by loading and checking out the miriad of apps out there, particularly Bible, Christian, and religious apps. Some I deleted shortly after opening them up. Others have found their permanent spot on one of my screens. I thought it would be fun to start posting an occasional app review, maybe about how I have used it.
Ok, with that said the app of the week is "GotQuestions" (www.gotquestions.org). This a very cool app! It takes hundreds of questions people often ask about God, the Bible, and other theological topics and arranged them under general headings. Tap on that heading and all questions related to it pop up. Tap your question and an essay giving the answer pops up for you to read. I found the articles to be informative without being too scholarly so as too lose the general audience. Additionally the app allows you to submit your own questions to the writers. This app is the offshoot of there website, blog, and even podcast (which you can subscribe to and listen to on your iPad).
How have I used this app? Well, although I enjoy reading full books and papers there are time when I enjoy read something shorter. This is a great app to go to for that. I can see this app being used by folks who may be in an environment whe a nonbeliever brings up some objection to some aspect of Christianity. The Christian will likely find that question in this app and be supplied with an answer within moment by doing a quick read of the article. This would also be a useful app for those new to the Christian faith and wanting to learn more about what the Bible says about a whole host of topics, theological and practical. This app has been moved to my front page! The only way I could see this app improved it to have the article read to you, an audio option. That would be a great addition to an already awesome app. But like I said, they have a podcast that basically provides that so maybe we will see this new feature sometime in the future.
It gets four out of five taps from me!
