This is a sermon I preached last Sunday night on Luke 2:25-35. In this passage of Holy Scripture Simeon receives the greatest "Christmas gift" he could ever imagine, something he had been waiting for for so long, something personally promised to him by God Himself: the "Consolation of Israel."
