Well, this afternoon I finished making my evangelism cross and tomorrow night I will be carrying it onto Grand Ave. in Escondido, CA. for their classic car rally. We have been going there for the past few years now handing out tracts but this summer conversations with folks have been slim. I am hoping that this tool, this cross, will change that. People will know why I am on that corner when I am holding this thing. This one is a bit bigger than most of the ones I have seen other evangelists carrying around, but that's OK, people will see this one a mile away and I ought to be able to haul it around with no problem.
At first I thought about staining it to a darker color, but then I thought, its not suppose to look pretty, the Cross of Christ was not pretty. Also, keeping the lighter color allowed for the lettering to stand out more.
I have to admit, I am anxious about tomorrow. I've experienced verbal persecution for just handing out tracts and preaching, what will this bring? But more than being anxious about that, I am anxious to see how God will use this witness for His glory.
